Campbelltown Hailstorm — 26 March 2026: Macarthur Region Damage Report
A second significant hailstorm struck the Macarthur region on the afternoon of Thursday 26 March 2026, affecting suburbs south of Campbelltown including Ingleburn, Minto, Macquarie Fields, Leumeah, Blairmount, Raby, and Eagle Vale.
What happened on 26 March
The storm cell moved north-northeast through the Macarthur corridor during the mid-to-late afternoon, with hailstones ranging from marble-sized to golf ball size reported across the affected area. The timing — mid-afternoon on a weekday — meant a high proportion of vehicles were parked at open-air workplaces, school car parks, shopping centres and suburban streets.
The waitlist problem — two storms in five days
With two significant hail events striking Greater Western Sydney within five days — Penrith on 21 March and Macarthur on 26 March — preferred repairer networks are reporting booking queues extending into the second half of 2026. For Campbelltown-area residents that means driving a damaged car for months, losing resale value, and being unable to sell or trade in your vehicle.
Most Australian motor policies contain a choice of repairer clause. This gives you the right to nominate your own repairer rather than accepting the insurer’s referral. A local repair completed in 2–5 days eliminates the wait entirely.
Free excess waiver — ends 31 May 2026
For qualifying insurance claims from both March 2026 storm events, Hail Dent Repair is waiving the insurance excess up to $1,000. Eligible customers pay nothing out of pocket. Offer closes 31 May 2026. T&Cs apply.
